💰 How far does your money go?
A large beer on an Amsterdam terrace costs €7 these days. On Sal, a half-litre of local draught is around €2.70. A cappuccino is about €1.70. Grilled fresh fish at a beach restaurant in Santa Maria runs €12 to €18, and a plate of the day away from the seafront can be as little as €5.
☀️ The Weather
January and March are dry and sunny in Sal. Expect 25°C in the afternoon, nights around 19-20°C and a sea of about 22°C. The trade winds blow steadily all winter, which is exactly why kitesurfers fly in from all over Europe.
🏨 Where to Stay
Most of the action is in Santa Maria, a small grid of streets that runs straight onto the beach.
