💰 How Far Does Your Money Go?
A plate of nasi goreng from a street warung costs around €1.50, and a full meal, rice, satay, sambal and a fresh juice, comes to about €3. That is less than a broodje kaas from an Amsterdam snackbar. A local Bintang beer at a rooftop bar runs €2.50, well under half what you would pay for a beer on a canal-side terrace.

Jakarta stays tropical whichever month you land. October brings warm days near 31°C with the rains just starting. By November and December the wet season is in full swing, still around 30°C but with daily downpours and humidity pushing 90%. February and March are much the same, hot and humid with short, heavy showers most afternoons. Pack light layers and an umbrella, not a jacket.
