Samaná — Green peninsula in the northeast with the 50m Limón waterfall, about four hours by road. Isla Catalina — Small island off La Romana known for snorkelling and a shallow reef, a day trip by boat. Bayahibe — Laid-back fishing village and the launch point for most southern island tours, about an hour away.
