💰 How far does your money go?
A set lunch in Seoul, soup, main, and a drink, costs around €8. Less than a menú del día back in Barcelona. Street food at the markets starts at €3: mung bean pancakes, spicy rice cakes, hand-rolled gimbap. A beer runs €3 to €4. You can eat and drink your way through an entire evening in Seoul for what a dinner for two would cost on Las Ramblas.
☀️ The weather in Seoul in June
Temperatures reach 27°C during the day and drop to around 17°C at night. Warm, occasionally humid, and prone to short bursts of rain as the month wears on. The rain rarely lasts long and the evenings are comfortable. Pack light layers for after dark.

🎯 What to do
Seoul moves fast. Slow down and you get more out of it.
Gyeongbokgung Palace and hanbok rental - Rent Korea's traditional dress for a few hours, get free palace entry, and explore the grandest of Seoul's Joseon dynasty palaces. Better value and better photos than any guided tour.
N Seoul Tower - Cable car up Namsan Mountain. Views across the full city grid, the Han River, and the mountains beyond. Go at dusk.
Gwangjang Market - Seoul's oldest covered market. Skip the tourist-facing stalls and eat where locals eat: bindaetteok (mung bean pancakes), gimbap, and freshly made bibimbap.
Korean baseball at Jamsil Stadium - Organised chanting sections, cheerleaders, synchronized crowd routines, and stadium food unlike anything in Europe. A full evening out for under €20, and one of the most enjoyable things you can do in the city.
🗺️ Where to go from here
Seoul is one of the best bases in Asia.
Busan - South Korea's second city: beaches, a famous seafood market, and steep hillside neighbourhoods painted in murals. 2.5 hours on the KTX high-speed train.
Jeju Island - Volcanic landscapes, black lava coastline, and trails up Hallasan Mountain. 1-hour domestic flight from Seoul.
DMZ - The most surreal day trip in Asia. Peer into North Korea from the Dora Observatory and walk through a tunnel dug for an invasion that never happened. A guided tour is compulsory and worth it.
Gyeongju - The ancient capital of the Silla kingdom. Royal burial mounds, a temple carved into a mountainside, and almost no crowds. 2 hours on the KTX.
Jeonju - The birthplace of bibimbap, with the best-preserved traditional hanok village in South Korea. Under 2 hours from Seoul by train.
Fares this low from Barcelona to Seoul are rare. Check dates and lock in before they go.
