Punta Cana in June is 30°C and turquoise. Manchester in June is 16°C and a coin flip. TUI flies non-stop from Manchester, London and Birmingham for £344 return. That is cheaper than most long-haul flights to anywhere worth going.

💰 How far does your money go?
Outside the resort, a Presidente beer costs around £3.70. A full plate of rice, beans and meat at a local spot runs to about £6. That is less than a meal deal in most UK cities. Most people go all-inclusive in Punta Cana, which makes the comparison even sharper: one price covers everything, from the rum cocktails by the pool to the midnight buffet.
☀️ The weather
June in Manchester, London and Birmingham means 16–18°C and a real chance of rain on any given day. Punta Cana in June sits at 29–30°C with ten hours of daylight and water temperature around 28°C. June is technically the start of the wet season, but rainfall usually arrives as short afternoon showers rather than all-day downpours. The mornings are reliably clear.
🏨 Where to stay
Punta Cana runs almost entirely on all-inclusive resorts. The question is which one fits your budget.
Impressive Punta Cana - All Inclusive · 8.0/10 · From £95/night A solid all-inclusive on Playa Arena Gorda with multiple pools, beach access and good food. The entry point for a proper resort holiday without overpaying.
Majestic Elegance Punta Cana - All Inclusive · 8.3/10 · From £140/night Adults-only, right on Bavaro Beach. Better restaurants, more attentive service and a genuine step up from the basic all-inclusive crowd.
Majestic Mirage Punta Cana - All Inclusive · 9.2/10 · From £220/night All-suite luxury on the best stretch of Bavaro Beach. Every room is a suite, the service is sharp and the restaurants are genuinely good. The benchmark for Punta Cana.
🎯 What to do
Punta Cana is built for beach holidays, but there is more to it than the sun lounger.
Saona Island. A protected island an hour from the coast by catamaran. Powder-white sand, no cars, no resort infrastructure. The most popular day trip in the country, and it earns it.
Scape Park at Cap Cana. 247 acres of adventure: zip lines, ATV trails, a natural cenote you can swim in, and cave exploration. The best half-day if you need a break from the beach.
Macao Beach. The one beach that has not been absorbed by the resort complex. Open to the public, wilder waves and a fraction of the sun-lounger crowds.
Coco Bongo. Punta Cana's legendary entertainment venue. Live acts, acrobatics, themed parties and an open bar from midnight until 4am. Loud, chaotic and completely worth it once.
🗺️ Where to go from here
Punta Cana is on the east coast. The rest of the island is worth the effort.
Santo Domingo. Three hours by road, or a short domestic flight. The oldest European city in the Americas, with a Unesco colonial zone and a serious food scene. A completely different country from the resort strip.
Samana Peninsula. Three hours north. One of the most beautiful and least developed corners of the Caribbean, with dramatic coastline and almost no resort infrastructure.
Jarabacoa. Four hours inland. Mountain waterfalls, cool temperatures and rafting on the Yaque del Norte river. The antidote to a week of flat, hot beach.
£344. Non-stop. The Caribbean in June. Check dates before they go.
