💰 How far does your money go?
A draught beer in a São Paulo boteco costs around €1.70, roughly half a caña on a Madrid terrace. A prato feito, the local set lunch of rice, beans, meat and salad, is about €7.60, around half the price of a menú del día in Madrid. A coxinha from a corner bakery costs €1–2, and a cappuccino about €1.90.
☀️ The weather
November is late spring in São Paulo. Days reach 27°C and nights drop to around 17°C. It is the start of the rainy season, so expect short afternoon showers on about half the days. Mornings are usually dry, which makes them the best time for walking the city.

Avenida Paulista on a Sunday. The avenue closes to cars, fills with street musicians and stalls, and MASP's red-legged gallery sits right in the middle.
Mercado Municipal. The 1930s market hall famous for its overstuffed mortadella sandwich and tropical fruit stalls.
Beco do Batman. An alley in Vila Madalena covered wall to wall in graffiti, a good start to an evening of botecos.
Liberdade. Home to the largest Japanese community outside Japan, with a weekend street food market under red lanterns.
