A pint in London now costs £6.75 on average. In Corfu, that buys you a cold beer, a gyros, and enough change to tip. Wizz Air is flying non-stop to the Greek Islands from £23 return this summer. This is not a misprint.

💰 How far does your money go?
In Rhodes, a cold Mythos beer costs €4.50 and a gyros with fries is €4.80. In Corfu, a full meal at a local taverna runs about €9.50. Even Mykonos, the priciest of the three, costs a fraction of a Saturday night out in Zone 1. A daily budget of €60–€80 covers food, drinks, and entry fees on most of these islands.
☀️ The weather
June in London: grey mornings, occasional sunshine, no promises. June in Greece: guaranteed. Corfu averages 30°C in July with almost zero rainfall. Rhodes hits 31°C and sees more than 300 sunny days a year. Mykonos sits at 27–28°C, cooled by the Meltemi wind. Perfect for beach days without the stifling heat.
🏨 Where to stay
Three islands, three very different stays.
Bella Venezia Hotel, Corfu · 8.7/10 · From €65/night A Venetian townhouse in Corfu Town, steps from the Liston promenade. Great value for the location and charm.
Spirit of the Knights Boutique Hotel, Rhodes · 9.0/10 · From €120/night Inside Rhodes' medieval Old Town, a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Stone walls, rooftop terrace, history on every corner.
Cavo Tagoo, Mykonos · 9.2/10 · From €350/night The iconic cave-pool hotel. If you're going to spend on Mykonos, this is where to do it.
🎯 What to do
Explore Rhodes Old Town. One of the best-preserved medieval cities in Europe. Walk the Street of the Knights, visit the Palace of the Grand Master, and get lost in the alleyways.
Catamaran cruise from Mykonos. A full-day sailing trip with a stop at Delos, the uninhabited ancient island just 30 minutes away. Most tours include lunch on board.
Day trip to Paxos from Corfu. A one-hour ferry to Paxos and Antipaxos, home to some of the clearest water in the Mediterranean. The Blue Caves are worth it alone.
Sunset at Little Venice, Mykonos. Bars and cafes built right over the sea. Get there with a drink at 7pm.
🗺️ Where to go from here
Each island opens up more of Greece.
Paxos and Antipaxos. One hour by ferry from Corfu. Tiny, pine-covered, with turquoise water that looks impossible. One of Greece's least-known gems.
Delos. Thirty minutes by boat from Mykonos. A UNESCO World Heritage Site and one of the most important archaeological locations in Greece. Nobody lives there; everyone should visit.
Symi. Ninety minutes by ferry from Rhodes. A pastel harbour town with no mass tourism and excellent fresh fish.
Kos. Two hours from Rhodes. Beaches, Roman ruins, and the same Aegean energy without the crowds.
At £23, the question isn't whether to go. It's which island to pick. Check dates early: prices at this level don't last long.
