Plaza 24 de Septiembre — The social heart of the city, brass bands, the cathedral and street vendors selling fresh juice under the palms. Lomas de Arena — Sand dunes twenty minutes from the centre, sandboard down them or spot caimans and monkeys in the surrounding lagoons. Mercado Los Pozos — The city's food market, plate after plate of local specialities for a couple of euros each. Guembé Biopark — Home to the largest butterfly enclosure and aviary in Bolivia, plus lagoons for swimming.
