💰 How far does your money go?
A bowl of ramen at a counter shop is around 900 yen, roughly 55 kronor, less than a fika back home. A can of beer from a convenience store is closer to 20 kronor, and a proper sit-down set lunch with rice, miso soup and a main runs about 90 kronor. Tokyo in August is hot and heavy, highs around 31°C with sticky humidity. By late September it starts to break, sitting near 27°C with the occasional typhoon passing through. October cools fast, down to a comfortable 22°C with clearer skies. December is a different city entirely: crisp, dry air, highs around 11°C and lows near 4°C, good for long walks and hot ramen. Osaka in November and December runs slightly milder, highs of 14–18°C easing to around 13°C by December, dry with plenty of sunshine.
