The cheapest dates come with a long stop: on 17/11 - 02/12 you spend about 20 hours in Beijing Daxing each way, and on 19/01 the outbound stop is 22h30. The March dates cost £347 but the stops are short: 1h40 in Guangzhou on the way out and 2h20 in Beijing on the way back. Some dates fly out of Heathrow and back to Gatwick, or the other way round, so check the airports. Hand luggage and one checked bag are included.
💰 How far does your money go?
A pint in London now costs £6-7. In Macau, a Portuguese egg tart straight from the oven costs about £1.30, a pork chop bun £4-5 and a bus ride across the city 60p. The casinos are free to walk into, and many of the shows in Cotai cost nothing.
☀️ The Weather
November is the best month in Macau: dry and sunny, with highs of about 24°C. January is cooler, around 18°C by day and 12°C at night, so bring a jacket. In March it warms up to 20-22°C, but the air gets humid and misty.

⏱️ Making the most of your layover in Beijing
The November and January dates have a stop of about 20 hours at Beijing Daxing. UK passport holders can usually leave the airport visa-free under China's 240-hour transit rules, because Macau counts as an onward destination, but check the current rules for your passport before you book. The city centre is about 45 minutes away by the Daxing Airport Express.
Great Wall or city layover tour: A private driver picks you up at the airport and takes you to the Mutianyu Great Wall or the Forbidden City, then back in time for your flight.
Hutong layover tour: Old Beijing on foot: narrow lanes, courtyard houses and local snacks, with airport transfers included.
If you'd rather rest:
Hilton Garden Inn Beijing Daxing International Airport · 9.3/10 · From £52/night
About 2 km from the terminal, with a shuttle bus.
Mumian Beijing Daxing International Airport, part of Hyatt · 9.4/10 · From £77/night
