💰 How far does your money go?
Lima eats well and cheaply. A set lunch, the almuerzo, is soup, a main and a drink for about €4, where a weekday pranzo in Milan is closer to €16. A plate of ceviche at a proper cevichería runs about €9. A pisco sour in a Barranco bar is around €6, less than a spritz on a Navigli terrace at aperitivo hour.

If you go in November, expect grey mornings. Lima sits under the garúa, a coastal mist that hangs until midday before the sun breaks through. Highs are about 19°C, nights drop to 15°C, and it almost never actually rains. Travel between January and May and you get Lima's summer instead: 26°C, clear skies and a sea warm enough to swim.

Museo Larco — pre-Columbian gold, textiles and ceramics in a white 18th-century mansion wrapped in bougainvillea.
Barranco food walk — ceviche, causa, anticuchos and pisco through the bohemian district, ending at the Puente de los Suspiros.
Huaca Pucllana — an adobe pyramid from 500 AD, lit up at night in the middle of Miraflores, with a restaurant beside the ruins.
