💰 How far does your money go?
A full prato feito lunch at a Rio boteco, meat, rice, beans and salad, runs about €7. A cold beer at the same counter is around €2, less than half of what you'd pay at a Vienna Beisl. Fresh coconut water straight off the cart costs about €2, and dinner in Ipanema with a caipirinha still lands under €20 a head.
☀️ The weather
Rio in March is full summer, highs around 31°C with warm, muggy nights near 23°C. April cools slightly into the high 20s as autumn arrives. By May and June the heat eases to a comfortable 25–26°C by day, with June marking the start of Rio's dry, sunnier winter. Rain showers are short and sharp, never enough to ruin a beach day.
