You land at Incheon, take a train that runs at 180 km/h into the city, and forty-five minutes later you're standing in Myeongdong watching someone eat tteokbokki from a paper cup at midnight on a Tuesday. That's Seoul. This is a non-stop flight from Frankfurt — no layover in some Gulf hub — from €654 return, with Tway Air. For the distance, that's as cheap as it gets.

💰 How Far Does Your Money Go?

A beer in a Frankfurt bar runs around €5. The same beer in a Seoul pojangmacha street tent costs €2.20. A bottle of soju — Korea's national spirit — is €1 at any convenience store, all open 24 hours. Tteokbokki from a street stall: €2.50. A full Korean BBQ dinner with pork belly, side dishes, and rice comes in at €12–15 per person. You can eat and drink well in Seoul for what you'd spend on a quiet Tuesday evening in Frankfurt.

☀️ The Weather

Frankfurt in May sits at 17–22°C — pleasant enough but unpredictable. Seoul in May is 18–23°C with low humidity and clear skies; genuinely one of the best months to visit. June pushes to 26–28°C and starts getting humid. July is monsoon season: 29–31°C, heavy rain in spells, and humidity that sticks. The city doesn't slow down in the rain — Seoul runs 24 hours regardless — but pack a light waterproof if your dates fall in July.

🏨 Where to Stay

Myeongdong is the easiest base: central, walkable, and surrounded by street food until 1am.

🎯 What to Do

Seoul doesn't ask you to slow down. You don't have to.

Gyeongbokgung Palace — The 14th-century royal palace at the heart of the city. Arrive early, before the crowds. Rent a hanbok at the gate for €5 and get in free.

DMZ Day Trip — The most unusual day trip in Asia. One hour from Seoul, you're standing at the most heavily fortified border on earth. Tours include the 3rd Tunnel and Bridge of No Return.

Gwangjang Market — Seoul's oldest covered market and one of the best food experiences in the city. Go straight for the bindaetteok (mung bean pancakes) and the mayak gimbap you'll keep thinking about for weeks.

Han River Night Cruise — The city from the water after dark. Bridges lit up, skyline on both sides, cold beer from the on-board bar for €3. One of those evenings that doesn't need a filter.

🗺️ Where to Go From Here

Seoul is one of the best-connected cities in Asia. Don't stop there.

Busan — South Korea's second city: cliff-side temples, raw fish markets, and the best beaches in the country. 50 minutes by domestic flight or 2.5 hours on the KTX bullet train.

Jeju Island — Korea's volcanic island. Lava tubes, black sand beaches, and coastal hiking trails. 1 hour by domestic flight from Gimpo Airport.

Gyeongju — The ancient Silla capital. Royal burial mounds, Buddhist temples, and almost no tourists. 2.5 hours by KTX from Seoul Station.

DMZ — If you want half a day rather than a full tour, the Demilitarized Zone is 1 hour north by bus — one of the genuinely surreal places left in the world.

€654 non-stop from Frankfurt. Seoul is one of the most alive cities on the planet — the dates are there, and fares at this price don't sit around. Check availability here.
