The Seychelles sit more than 1,600 kilometres off the coast of East Africa, a scatter of 115 granite islands where the Indian Ocean shades from turquoise to deep blue depending on where you look. From London, Kenya Airways gets you there for £542 return, with one stop in Nairobi. That's not a budget destination price. It's a proper deal for somewhere that usually filters itself out on price before most people even search.

💰 How far does your money go?
A plate of octopus curry with rice at a local spot costs around €4. Freshly caught Creole fish, the same. Even a SeyBrew, the local beer, comes in under €8 at most places. You're not eating on a shoestring: the local food culture revolves around fresh catch and rice, and that keeps prices grounded. A daily budget for food and drink can sit comfortably below £40 if you eat where locals eat.
☀️ The weather
The dates in this deal fall across one of the best windows in the Seychelles calendar. September through November sits between the trade winds, bringing warm, dry, settled conditions. Temperatures hover around 28–29°C, seas are calm, and visibility underwater is excellent. January and February bring the northwest trades with occasional afternoon showers, but temperatures stay at 29–30°C and the rain rarely lasts long.
🏨 Where to stay
Three options across the full range, all on Mahé, Seychelles' main island and home to Victoria.
Daniella's Bungalows — 9.0/10 · From €95/night Self-catering bungalows tucked into a hillside above the coast. A local favourite for independent travellers who want space without blowing the budget.
Hilton Seychelles Northolme Resort & Spa — 8.7/10 · From €280/night Perched on a granite headland on the northwest coast. Every villa looks straight out over the Indian Ocean. The infinity pool makes the upgrade feel obvious.
Constance Ephélia — 9.4/10 · From €450/night Set on a private beach between two bays on Mahé's west coast. Five pools, six restaurants, a spa. The Seychelles at its most polished.
🎯 What to do
Seychelles is outdoor-first. The granite boulders, coral reefs and jungle interiors do the work.
Hike Morne Seychellois National Park — Covering a third of Mahé, this rainforest-covered mountain is criss-crossed with trails. Go early to avoid the heat and get the views before cloud rolls in.
Vallée de Mai, Praslin — A UNESCO World Heritage Site and the only place on earth where the Coco de Mer palm grows wild. The world's largest seed. Worth the ferry to Praslin just for this.
Victoria Market — The island's capital is small, but the market is the real pulse of the place. Fresh tuna, salted fish, spices and local chatter every morning of the week.
Snorkelling at Anse Lazio — Widely considered one of the best beaches in the world. The reef directly off the beach is accessible without a boat. Bring a mask and go at low tide.
🗺️ Where to go from here
Mahé is the entry point, not the destination. The rest of the archipelago is the point.
Praslin — 1 hour by ferry or 15 minutes by Air Seychelles. Home to Anse Lazio and Vallée de Mai. Most visitors spend 2–3 nights here.
La Digue — 20 minutes from Praslin by ferry. The most relaxed island in the archipelago. Bicycles are the main transport. Anse Source d'Argent is here: the most photographed beach in the world.
Silhouette Island — 45 minutes by boat from Mahé. Almost entirely national park. One resort, a dive centre and real silence, for travellers who want to disappear.
Bird Island — A small coral island a short charter flight north. Nesting home to millions of sooty terns from May to October. Low-key and genuinely remote.
At €542 return from London, this is as close as budget travel gets to somewhere the world usually prices out of reach. The dates run well into winter, which makes it even easier to justify.
