💰 How far does your money go?
São Paulo is a megacity that doesn't charge like one. A chopp -- São Paulo's beloved ice-cold draft beer -- costs around €2.50 at a local bar. A sit-down lunch with mains runs €9 to €12. February and March are São Paulo's summer. Expect highs of 27–28°C, with warm evenings around 18–19°C. It's the wet season, but showers tend to be short and sharp rather than all-day affairs. Nights are warm, humid, and built for being outside.

Mercado Municipal -- The city's iconic covered market, known for its stained-glass windows and the legendary mortadella sandwich. Go hungry.
Batman Alley (Beco do Batman) -- A labyrinth of streets in Vila Madalena covered in rotating street art. Free, constantly changing, unlike anything else in the city.

Ilhabela -- An Atlantic Forest archipelago with 42 beaches. Drive 2 hours, take a short ferry, and you're there.

Campos do Jordão -- A mountain resort town at 1,600m, often called the Swiss Alps of Brazil. The food is considerably better.
Paraty -- A beautifully preserved colonial town on the Costa Verde, 4 hours south. Cobblestone streets, natural pools and a craft cachaça scene.
