Vienna in November is 6°C, grey coats, and candlelit Kaffeehäuser. Buenos Aires in November is 25°C, steak on the grill, and tango after midnight. Latam Airlines connects the two with two stops, and from €669 return, that difference is yours to book.

💰 How far does your money go?
A Melange in a central Viennese Kaffeehaus costs around €5. In Buenos Aires, a café con leche and two medialunas, the local breakfast, runs €3. A full dinner at a proper parrilla, with a rib-eye and a glass of Malbec, comes to around €25. In Vienna, that same plate costs twice as much. The Argentine peso has made Buenos Aires genuinely good value for European visitors.
☀️ The weather
Vienna in November is 6°C and damp. February drops to 3°C. By March, it barely reaches 10°C. Buenos Aires works in the opposite direction: November is spring at 25°C, February is peak summer at 27°C with long warm evenings, and March stays at a comfortable 23°C as the heat eases. All three months are a real escape from Central European winter.

🎯 What to do
Buenos Aires has the energy of a city that never fully stops.
Recoleta Cemetery: More city than cemetery. Marble mausoleums, narrow stone alleys, and Evita Perón's grave at the end of a quiet path. Plan at least two hours.
Teatro Colón: One of the five great opera houses in the world. Guided tours run daily. The auditorium alone is worth the ticket.
La Boca and Caminito: Bright-painted buildings, tango dancers in the street, and some of the best street food in the city. Go before noon.
Tango show in San Telmo: Buenos Aires invented the dance. The neighbourhood milongas are intimate and real. Book ahead.
🗺️ Where to go from here
Buenos Aires is a gateway. The continent starts here.
Colonia del Sacramento, Uruguay: One hour by ferry across the Río de la Plata. A Unesco-listed colonial town with cobblestones and excellent river fish.
Montevideo, Uruguay: Two and a half hours by ferry. Calm, walkable, and good value. Worth at least one night.
Iguazu Falls: Two hours by domestic flight. One of the most spectacular natural sights on earth, on the border with Brazil. Non-negotiable if you have more than ten days.
€669 from Vienna. Two stops. Buenos Aires before March is over.
